I'm looking for some good, reputable and unique cancer charities or fundraisers that I can donate to. What I'm really looking for is an event or fundraisers where someone is taking on a difficult personal challenge to raise money or awareness.

I can't understand it. She had radiation etc. and an operation to remove most of the growth. But she is still completely lucid and sharp as a tack. Will she just 'loose it' suddenly as soon as the tumor reaches a vital brain area? Although she's bedridden and tired, how can she still be so bright yet have such a short time to live? She even has a good appetite. I'm confused. Is there a chance she'll survie? What to expect? Thanks so much.

My mom is a very active person. Because of her lumpectomy, port surgery, and chemotherepy (starting Monday), she's going to have to remain in the house all day. It's driving her nuts, and not helping her mood. What can she do to occupy herself (alone) and help her depression? Thanks a billion.

I'm doing a research on breast cancer for school and so far I haven't came up with anything. I need to know it's symptoms. When does a girl knows she has breast cancer, stuff like that. Also can she do something about it? is it guarantee that people die of breast cancer? I need to know if a person sees the cancer and what it ressembles. Please and thank you.

A few weeks ago doctors found a brain tumor in my sister. Since then she has been diagnosed w/ bone cancer. Unfortunately the only insurance she has is Medicaid and we can't get any treatment. Does anyone know of anything my family can do to try and get treatment started? I'm afraid the longer we wait, the less chance she may have. Any advice will be greatly appreciated

Her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer about two years ago. I asked her how long it had been since her last mammogram, and she said about 8 years. I then asked her if she did self exams on a regular basis, and she said that she didn't.

After talking with her, there is a possibility that it could be fiberous, as she's had those types of masses in the past. But she's 46 years old, and it's possible that might not be the case.

Are there programs for women without insurance or other assistance, to obtain mammograms and care, should they be diagnosed with breast cancer? If so, where would I tell her to check? She's in the Lubbock (TX) area.

Just want to tell everybody that knows someone with this Cancer to just always have Hope. My mom was diagnosed with Small Cell last week, she went to the Oncologist and was told that she is Curable. I am so happy right now. She got very lucky because she had ammunia and the doctors found it before it barely even started. She only has one bad cell in her right lung that is localized. She starts Chemo next week for 3 months she doesn't even need the radiation. So everyone keep your head up and pray for the best. As I know my mom wil be with us. Thank God

My mom was diagnosed with cancer when I was two and she fought for eight years with chemotherapy and diets and such, but she died anyway. Something I had thought about was that if I ever got cancer I wouldn't want to fight it like she did. She was so sick and in pain throughout most of my life, and I don't think I would want to go through that. I would just let myself die on my own and enjoy my last year or so of living. My friends think I'm crazy, but after seeing what I've seen I think it makes sense.

I don't know, would any of you guys fight to survive if you had a terminal illness? Why or why not?

Include the genetics of lung cancer and link the cause to the cell cycle.
