Since there are over 200 different types of cancer and many more rare sub types there is very little you can do to prevent cancer. What you can do however is remain as healthy as possible, exercise, avoid habitual smoking, drinking, overeating, drugs, avoid carcinogens, avoid sunburns, as much as humanly possible . . stay heatlhy and become very aware of your own body. Watch for suspicious lumps or bumps anywhere on or inside your body, unexplained weight loss, unusual fatigue, and have regular medical physicals (no matter what your age). Learn to be persistant if you suspect anything unusual is going on.

The best prevention for cancer is to know your body . . what is normal and what is abnormal.

Other than that just go about enjoying your life and don't fret about it.

That is tough to answer, because there are so many types of cancer today and so many factors that can tip the scale in the direction of cancer.
Primarily, if it is not hereditary, and you are just wanting to make sure you do the best you can to not get cancer - you should take care of your body inside and out.
Eat clean foods - that is undisturbed, unmodified, pesticide-free, natural foods like vegetables, fruits, and all your foods should be organic - the way they were before companies came up with all these chemicals to add to food God created in its natural state.
Drink purified water - that helps cleanse the body of impurites. Stay away from cigarettes, and tobacco of any kind, pipe, chew, etc...
Have an occasional glass of red wine, good for the sytem.
Feed your cells - add CellFood to your water. Take SuperFood from Dr. Schulze, exercise moderately - take walks. Don't lay out to get a tan, be careful who you are around regarding behaviour - happy is healthier, mad, angry, sad, depressed and bad attitudes drain you and affect your overall health in your mind and body.
Keep a "clean" home - use only natural cleaning products, keep your filters changed every month if possible, laundry supplies should be natural not chemical, get rid of pesticides, bleaches, anything that is harmful to breathe in, ingest, or against your skin and in the air.
Air purifier is also good for your home. Remove shoes at the door when you come into the house and weare slippers. Keep floors clean and clean carpets every 6 months or so.
These are practical things, not necessarily difficult to do, and can help you have a healthy environment at home and in you! Hope that helps!

by taking very good care of ourselves! this means practicing a clean-living. not drinking alcohols, smoking etc. always having a monthly check-up, having a balance diet, exercising and drinking vitamins. but sometimes even if we do all the necessary things to prevent cancer, some people still develop a cancer in their latter part of their life. i guess cancer is unpredictable. you'll just wake up in the morning and be shocked that you have this kind of illness. especially if its genetics, you cant prevent it.

Also avoid breathing in insectide fumes or any such chemical. I have Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and it is suspected that it is caused by that.
