As a sufferer myself I find that a positive attitude is something which the person needs to develop. The very word Cancer almost always is linked with Death and Pain etc. In acutal fact in this day and age many Cancers whilst not cureable do not necessarily mean a death sentence. In many cases Cancer can be treated as a chronic disease such as heart problems which whilst there is no immediate cure, symptoms can be controlled over a number of years. I have had cancer for 10 years and still live an active positive life. It can be a liberating experience and give one the opportunity to do things which you wouldn't consider normally. Life really is for living.
All my best wishes

Not knowing what cancer, i am sure all you can do is be positive. I like to think of it as there is a chance you will get better and a chance you will not. At least you can go through your time knowing whether you will live, which i am sure you will as the drugs today are so good. Dn't get me wrong it is natural to feel sad some days. You need to feel sorry for yourself sometimes. I think just doing everything you enjoy and living life to the full is the best option. Just think of it as an eye opener to show you that life is full of surprizes! I sincerely hope you get better and wish with all my heart that it was caught early or is now going to be treated. I am sure you will do all of the things i have said but you are probably feeling a little down right now! I hope you get well. love keira xxx

I sure do. Thank goodness it was found, and now it can be dealt with. It will take time to accept what is going on, and to realize that it's not a punishment for anything, it just happens. I won't say it's a test from God or some rubbish like that, cos it's not. It happens, and I know it's not a fair fight when something is inside of you and you can't see it to fight it off. Acceptance is very important in the beginning stages of grief. One will go through all 7 stages, but keeping one's wits about them, and having emotional support is beneficial. No one should have to go through this without support from a loved one. One will realize just how strong one really is from this. And damned if one won't ever be scared of anything else ever again. One will and should get upset, think of how this could have possibly happened, why it happened, if one deserves it, if one is being punished, if one is being tested or is one has had a curse or spell placed on them. I know the redundancy of being told to be strong is so nauseating, but it's all one has, and the only thing that will pull one through this (and just about anything for that matter). Do research and find the best physicians for treatment, and if one can find an oncologist that specializes in the daignosis, then by all means, one should pay her/him a visit. Doing that research and visitng physicians and oncologist will assist one in finding who one feels most comfortable with trusting their health care to. One should proceed with treatments and follow Doctor's orders. One needs to be surrounded with care, love, quiet and peace. Lavender everything. One will need all that for recovery of treatment and/or surgery. And please remember, that, at this very moment, people are dilligently researching to find a way to cure this nasty disease. They are trying very hard, and they care, and a cancer diagnosis is not a death sentence. There are many options for treatment, and there are many success stories with patients having remission for the rest of their lives. Don't lose hope, it is the key to maintaining strength, which as I mentioned previously, is the rope that will pull one up from the proverbial well of emotions. Be strong, surrounded with love and peace.

Glyconutrients - essential sugars that heal have great results. They work on the cellular level. I know of people first hand who have had complete remission of cancer and other terminal illnesses that were issued a "time left to live scenario" that came back to full health after taking and continuing to take them. AIDS included.
There is a patented product on the market from a company based in Coppell, Texas you may look up. I don't think it is allowed on this site (?) But...
Here is a link to them and forgive me if I'm not suppose to give out this kind of information. I just want to help and this is the only thing that is non-invasive that I know about that has merit in the world. It is food based so it does not interfere with Western Medicine (chemo, etc.). Here is a web site for your continued health and education to help beat ills:

Go for it. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

I have recently worked with Bobby Wright, the 4 year old boy from Devon with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma. Since his diagnosis he has shown a full recovery.
His family set up a fund called Bobby's Fund. Look on the internet and call them, explain your situation and they will be happy to help. His father will probably tell you all about how the family supported their son and changed their lifestyle to help him become healthy again. They are happy to offer advice for free and point you in the right direction if you are truly willing to help yourself get over this disease. Cancer can be cured, and it never has to be terminal. You can fight it, but only if you are prepared for the battle!
The fund is primarily for children as it says on the site, but they offer help to anybody who will take it seriously.
Good luck! Go to www.bobbysfund.org
Here are some ideas for research if you want to do your own:-
http://www.cancertutor.com/ - this site is fantastic
http://educate-yourself.org/cancer/ - also fantastic

Try those for a start! I have so many more!

If the hospital to which you've been referred has an oncology department ask to be referred to any support facility they offer. If you're in the UK contact Macmillan. They don't just help with palliative care they also provide all sorts of support.
Don't be afraid to talk to family and friends. They'll be glad to know you feel able to include them and ask for their help
