What Features should I look for ?

I know that I DEFENETLY want automatic threading since I had a previous issues with my previous sewing machine (SINGER MODEL 1725 ).I'd also like something affordable not outrageous

Some of the issues I had with my other machine were

Threading it was very difficult for me to thread my machine .
I also had bobbin issues I was told by a person on the site that I needed to melt it with fire because it was very lose.That is what she had to do to make hers work

so i'm making pjs pants in my sewing class. when you put the bobbin in i know you put the string through the tiny hole but when you place the bobbin in the machine does the little hole face up or down? I though it would be down because when i hook the string in that black slot it goes in easyier then when i do it with the small hole faceing upwards. But when the hole is faceing down and i start sewing the bobbin always shoots up and causes this stringy mess but not when i have it faceing up. also when i use the sewing mahchine i'll see stitching on the top but not the bottom and the string comes out. also when im sewing the stitchiing will randomly stop and i'll see long string coming out but not going into the fabric.
help!

I am in charge of keeping the kids occupied this year at thanksgiving. I was thinking of showimg them how to marbilize paper with shaving cream and paint. Last year I showed them how to make paper and they loved it! I need a cool idea that will keep them interested..not a cut and paste project. The ages range from 5-13, and my cousin and I who are 18. I'm very, very crafty (if I do say so myself), and I don't have a lot of $$ to spend on my family this year. I'm looking for ideas for inexpensive gifts for my family (that I have to make and ship to another state). Need ideas for Mom (59), brothers (32, 33), sisters in law (25, 30) and nieces (10, 11). I need to knit a scarf for my best friend for Christmas and I need a pattern. I am broke and only have one full skien of useable yarn. I would like to try something besides garter stitch, I use it all the time. I want to do something unique and fun, just like my best friend. Im stuck on a level. There is a pool of water and on land there is a lever and if you pull it, elevators come up. If you jump across all of them, it leads to an Athena statue. It says that only she knows the way out. If you swim down the pool, there is a locked gate with a carving of Posidon on it. How do i beat this part?I have been stuck here for so long.
