What I do is usually blow alot of colorful balloons, not too whack but matching and with streamers and curly ribbon from the balloons, maybe banners on the wall "happy birthday". I have plastic thing over my table, i sometimes get white or a color of table clothe/towel and put confetti under the see through table cloth .. i put up the streamers diagonally, zigzag, or just make a X in the dining area and i tape balloons on the wall and filled ballons with helium for the ceiling. i also serve, chips, pop, ice cream, cookies, etc as lil snacks. and that cake when they blow out candels.. for meal part potatoe salad, lasagna, pasta salad, caesar salad, garden salad, chinese rice, chicken balls, ribbs with honey sauce or something, oh and i usually keep movies in tv room and game rooms ps2, xbox, computer room and music going in the dining area, living room... is there anything i can change or add?

Any creative ideas for food and cocktails for a superbowl party? I was planning on having chips and taco dip and probably also some salsa I have a full bar pretty much so I am wondering if anyone has fun footbal related drink ideas or food. Also anything to do for the people (like me) who arent that interested in watching the game?

How does this sound for a grad party? My favorite color is purple(lavender), so I wanted to have purple decor at first, but then I thought that lilac, green, and choclate brown accent looks really cute together. I am graduating grad school, and we want to rent out a room, so its more upscale than a backyard party. I also would like to have a cupcake tower using the colors with icing. What do you think? Any suggestions?

I'm making an invitation for a 50th anniversary dinner. The friends throwing the party DONT want people to wear tennis shoes or T-shirts...but its not a dressy-formal party. How should I word that while still keeping the invitations elegant? Semi-formal still sounds a bit more dressy than I believe they are thinking...and I don't think jeans are a problem...

She likes to play the dance DVR game and she loves rock music and music from the 60s/70s. She is in honor classes but has a sense of humor. She is beautiful and hip with a touch of geekness in her character. I am telling this because she hangs out with people from all walks of life. I need a theme that will be good for everyone. She is also part hispanic and has been raised with her culture. We are going to have two parties. One for the family (both sides) and one for her friends. That is the one I'm worried about. She is allowed to invite 200 friends and it will be from 7 to 10 pm which is curfew. No liquor or promiscuity allowed and forms will have to be filled out with contact info in case of accidents or behavior problems. Our budget is $2500. Do you play games at 16th birthday parties? What would you serve for food and beverages? What kind of Decorations? All ideas would be appreciated!
