I liked the 'smart casual' answer, I would also suggest Business or Business Casual...Cocktail attire may suggest something more formal that what you are looking for but it also an alternative.

elegant casual or even give suggestions in the invitations example... a fun dress or nice slacks with a blazer would be a fabulous attire for guests
