Beer, Wine & Spirits - December 2007

I quit drinking and realized what a social aspect it is in our culture. When I say, I don't drink... people look at me weird or try to peer pressure me into drinking. I tend to get energy drinks in cups with ice to look like something. Since there is so much alcoholism, duis, and deaths relating to alcohol...why do we feel compelled as a culture to make people drink?

My friends and I would like to have egg nog with alcohol for our little Christmas party, but I really don't want to make it from scratch (college student). Can I just add alcohol to some that I bought at the store, and how much should I add? Also, which would be better: rum, bourbon, or brandy? I've seen all of these liquors in recipes online.

I want to spend around $40 dollars and get something like a 5 pack or sampler or something like that. Can someone please give me some suggestions. I know $40 isn't a whole lot, but it is the best i can do. Is it possible to get some good quality cigars for $40. And like I said, this person knows his cigars, so i need to get something pretty solid. All suggestions/links/help is appreciated.

Particularly the heavier stuff, like a couple shots of vodka(no more than a pint). Is this safe to drink one day a week? Say a Saturday?

How long will alcohol still show up in breathalyzer, urine, and blood tests?

If someone goes out to the bar one night and drinks how long will it take to not show up on a breathalyzer? I know it varies by drinks but I don't know all the specifics to it. Let's say they drink 5 Blue Long Islands between the hours of 10pm-3am or they have 5 beers within that same time period. (Assume we're talking about a female, 130 pounds if that makes a difference), about how long will it take for them to have no alcohol show up on a breathalyzer test (not just for them to be under the legal limit but to be totally clean)?

And in the same scenarios about how long would it take for them to be clean on a blood test and also a urine test.

my friend brought me a double shot of vodka in a watter bottle...i took a big sip and it was GROSS...

i like feel it going down my system..it hurts my stomach...

any suggestions on why its hurting??

and how do i get rid of this feeling? i've already drank a bottle or green tea.
