If you feel the need to always have a drink in your hand - say at a holiday party, you can do this without getting drunk or embarassing yourself.
- make sure you've eaten before drinking and continue to snack while drinking
- after each drink or beer, switch to a water, juice or soda - if these are served in a glass, no one will know you're not drinking an alcoholic beverage
- after your second beer or drink, STICK TO the non-alcoholic drinks
I've bartended holiday parties and you'd be surprised at the number of people who go for virgin drinks or otherwise stop at 2. If I see that someone is approaching their limit and perhaps doesn't realize it, I decrease or eliminate the alcohol from their drinks. Somebody needs to take responsiblity and I don't think it reflects well on the guest, host or servers if a guest gets beyond his control and embarasses or endangers himself and everyone else.

Stop drinking! Are you nuts! I have the same problem, I just drink slower. I only go to my neighborhood tavern one or two nights out of the week and I'm not one to stay up much past twelve (after watching The Daily Show and the Colbert Report). Also I haven't EVER been drunk to the point of being ill. But, oh, I love one or two drinks in the evening.

It means you are dehydrated when you begin. Try eating a meal and drinking plenty of water before your first drink then have a glass of water after your drink and before your next - if you stay hydrated you won't get drunk so quickly and you can enjoy a beer or two. Good Luck!

Stop drinking.
YOu can work up to a higher limit, but it is expensive and not a good use of our time.
I am not a christian but I drink about 2 beers a years. If I rmember to. I drink an occasional class of wine and no hard liquor. I like being sober and able to drive.
I save my calories for food.

just drink until you black out and/or throw up every night for a few months. You'll suddenly notice that you can drink vast amounts of alcohol before being drunk. However, if you intend to keep your dignity and your liver, I would suggest just having your two beers every now and then and enjoying the fact that you are a cheap date.

Avoid alcohol because it's bad for your health, it's a waste of money and it'll make your hair, teeth, skin and nails nasty, gross, and dull.
You'll also loose your hair, go bald with a half moon receding hairline and you'll have a big, flabby beer belly.
