Singles & Dating - 23 January 2007

I went out with this guy for over a year, and we loved each other to death. Before our relationship, we made a promise to each other that we would still be best friends when we end. But now that we have been through for 3 months, (and he got a new girl in the process) everytime I try to be nice to him we end up in a HUGE argument. Why can't we STILL get along? Should I give up or try a different approach?

All of my friends say that they have had a boyfriend in like 3rd or 4th grade and I can't say I have because when I went to elementary school we never had boyfriends that young. So, I am wondering if small towns have boyfriends earlier than most people or are my friends just lying to me to say that they have had a boyfriend before????

Valentine's Day is coming up and I have to go through the same thing every year. I don't want to be alone again and I don't want to be miserable just because everyone else is happier than me. I look around on a day to day basis and see the same thing around me. Every lucky girl at school has friends or a boyfriend. Even my mom has love in her life again. I am 17 i work with a guy who is 26.

we have been alone together on more than one occasion but we have never kissed. there were a few moments where he started to learn in slightly but he pulled away.

we flirt and talk all the time and get along great.
i have been calling him a lot recently and we have hung out almost everyday in the past two weeks.

well we hung out last night and there seemed to be quite a bit of attraction. we were together almost the whole night. but i didn't call him once today and he basically ignored me. we hung out on our break at work and were in a car together but other than that it was almost as if i wasn't there. he usually comes right up to me and starts talking but today he stood by me but didn't talk to me but talked to the person next to me.

i've noticed that he is EXTRA friendly to me when his ex is around too.

a guy broke up with me aftere dating for 10 months because he was cheating and gotten another woman pregnant. He told me he was in love with her, and he wasn't in love with me anymore. We had a cell phone plan together and he still decides to keep me on his plan and continue to pay my cell phone bill. I asked him to come and get his things from my house and he comes and we end up having sex. He told me after he felt guilty because he didn't want to hurt me again. Once upon a time, there was once a guy who was very much in love with this girl. This romantic guy folded 1,000 pieces of papercranes as a gift to his girl. Although, at that time he was just a small executive in his company, his future doesn't seemed too bright, they were very happy together. Until one day, his girl told him she was going to Paris and will never come back. She also told him that she cannot visualise any future for the both of them, so let's go their own ways there and then... heartbroken, the guy agreed.

When he regained his confidence, he worked hard day and night, slogging his body and mind just to make something out of himself. Finally with all these hardwork and with the help of friends, this guy had set up his own company...

"You never fail until you stop trying." he always told himself. "I must make it in life!"
One rainy day, while this guy was driving, he saw an elderly couple sharing an umbrella in the rain walking to some destination. Even with the umbrella, they were still drenched. It didn't take him long to realise those were his ex-girlfriend's parents. With a heart in getting back at them, he drove slowly beside the couple, wanting them to spot him in his luxury sedan. He wanted them to know that he wasn't the same anymore, he had his own company, car, condo, etc. He had made it in life!

Before the guy can realise, the couple was walking towards a cemetary,and he got out of his car and followed them...and he saw his ex-girlfriend, a photograph of her smiling sweetly as ever at him from her tombstone... and he saw his precious papercranes in a bottle placed beside her tomb. Her parents saw him. He walked over and asked them why this had happened. They explained, she did not leave for France at all. She was stricken ill with cancer. In her heart, she had believed that he will make it someday, but she did not want her illness to be his obstacle ... therefore she had chosen to leave him.

She had wanted her parents to put his papercranes beside her, because, if the day comes when fate brings him to her again he can take some of those back with him. The guy just wept ...the worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right beside them but knowing you can't have them and will never see them again.
The End."

A tragic story that perhaps happens only in the movies. At the end of the day, money is money is money but love is divine. In our quest for our material wealth, take time to make time for our loved ones. There will be a time when we have only memories to cling to.
Take this weekend to show our "love" to all that are close to us.

I'm currently beginning a very promising and enjoyable career as a legislative assistant and legal attaché in the Institute for Legislative Action [ILA], the legal and political wing of the NRA. I believe that the actions of the NRA/ILA, and to a small degree my personal actions, help to ensure the protection of the Second Amendment Civil Rights of all Americans.

However, I have found that if a girl I am attempting to ask on a date inquires into what I do for a living, and I answer her honestly, she will usually loose interest.

I was wondering if should either continue to be honest and hope to find someone is not bothered by the fact that I fight for the civil rights of all Americans, a strategy which has yet to work, or if I should be less then perfectly honest about my career, possibly mentioning only that I work for a lobbying/legal defense firm, and then reveal the truth after a girl has gotten to know me???
