I'm currently beginning a very promising and enjoyable career as a legislative assistant and legal attaché in the Institute for Legislative Action [ILA], the legal and political wing of the NRA. I believe that the actions of the NRA/ILA, and to a small degree my personal actions, help to ensure the protection of the Second Amendment Civil Rights of all Americans.
However, I have found that if a girl I am attempting to ask on a date inquires into what I do for a living, and I answer her honestly, she will usually loose interest.
I was wondering if should either continue to be honest and hope to find someone is not bothered by the fact that I fight for the civil rights of all Americans, a strategy which has yet to work, or if I should be less then perfectly honest about my career, possibly mentioning only that I work for a lobbying/legal defense firm, and then reveal the truth after a girl has gotten to know me???
Thank you in advance for any advice.

By the way, I only went into the degree of detail to describe my position because I wasn't sure that the individuals on this board would be familiar with the ILA or its mission.
Where I live and appropriately socialize, namely Washington, DC, there is no such confusion.

I would absolutely be honest. If the girl is so close-minded that she can't accept what you do or what you believe in, she's not worth it. At least then you will know what kind of person she is. Besides, wouldn't you want the girl to be honest and up front with you about things? When you don't present someone with the whole picture, I think it opens up the potential for distrust and conflict later on.
Believe it or not, there are some girls (maybe not in DC!) who think what you do is awesome. :)

absolutely tell the whole truth about what you do! it's your choice, your career, and you sound like you really enjoy it - something not everyone can say about their job.
so if a girl can't agree with you, that's her problem. don't ever leave out a part of yourself just for some girl - if she's really worth a relationship, she won't care about your job but about YOU.
i would suggest against only mentioning a little, then revealing the whole truth later - I feel like that could easily backfire. The girl would be fairly hurt if she finds out about your real self later...that's just unfair to her.
that's not to say you HAVE to tell a girl. but if she asks what you do, tell her. and make sure you don't go out of your way to avoid telling her - for the same reasons as above.
good luck!! =]

some examples I have seen on right here and elsewhere are: • We worship Joseph Smith • We have self belief God had actual sex with Mary to beget Jesus • We position self belief in "yet another Jesus" (i'm purely conscious that there become ever one) • We position self belief in salvation through works, truly than faith those are purely the most straight forward ones. I have seen some truly loopy stuff; one human being even reported that Mormons are not allowed to bypass water. I purely appeared at Sandra Tanner's internet website, and indexed below are the 0.5-truths I have got here across purely on the FAQ web page. element 3 says we've self belief that celestial marriage is critical to achieve eternal existence. no longer so. We have self belief that celestial marriage is critical for exaltation, yet all of us could have eternal existence. element 4 says: "Mormonism teaches that the God to whom they pray is yet one of an finished sequence of gods who at one time were mortal then superior to godhood. The LDS Church teaches that their Heavenly Father become once born as a spirit toddler of a god and spouse who ruled a distinct international. After maturing as a spirit being he become despatched to a unique international the position he become born as a human. There he grew to adulthood, married, died, become resurrected, went to heaven, superior and finally grew to change into the God of our international." properly, that would properly be doctrine someplace, yet I were a member for 16 years and that i have not been taught that.

How excting will it be when the woman of your dreams asks you what you do for a living, you tell her the whole truth, and she is completely fascinated by what you do, and admires you for it?
I think it's best to begin a relationship being totally honest.

I feel that honesty is the best policy. What happens if she finds out later. Then she might feel that if you lied to her about that then you have probably lied about other things. So it is best to start out on the right foot.

Honesty is always the best policy....why would you want to hide what you do? If she cares about you, it won't matter...that's part of being in a relationship, she may have her opinion, you have yours, but you support each other and encourage.
