I'm a French speaking Belgian dude who's interested in Indian culture and traditional music.
Up to now, I had never found myself on Yahoo! India.

One last detail: please, NO "foreign guy who-lives-there answers". I wanna meet genuine Indian fellaz.

my best friend in the whole world called this morning, her mom died. she is 21, now i now that is old enough to get death and understand it, but that was her mother, she is just devastated, i feel horrible and i just don't know what i should do for her. i feel helpless and i am at a loss for words. has anyone been in this situation or have any advice on what i should do? i could really use the help.i don't want to say the wrong thing. i can't image how i would feel if my mom died. thanks so much for your help.

have known my best friend (girl) for 2 years now. I am a guy. We used to be so close, and did absolutely everything together. Now she has a new boyfriend, who she told me about even before they got together. She does everything with him now, and hardly ever texts and calls me. I always intiate conversation.
She still says we are best mates but things will be different, but she said I don't like you any less than I did. But when we meet up, she does not really want to be there.
I am in two minds with this relationship - either to leave her to it, and let her come and find me when she is ready, or just to stay with her and feel a lot of pain inside. I try to tell her how I feel but she gets angry and so does her boyfriend. I am also jealous and feel very lost.
She is changing. I don't know what to do anymore.
I feel I do everything for her, even got her gifts for her birthday and when I go on holiday. She says she will do that but never does.
Any advice before its too late?

I wouldn't really call her a real proper friend, but more of a neighbour/acquaintance. I meet her quite often at the bus stop in the mornings and she usually has a compliment about my clothes. Lately, though, she keeps coming out with, "Where I work, I wouldn't be allowed to wear open toe shoes like that or summery tops like that and all that nonsense". I reply, "Well, I wouldn't like to work under such strict circumstances as yours not to wear them". She replied, "Well, when you have a mortgage, you have to keep at your job" - like the mortgage has been thrust upon her or something.

Am I reading too much into this or is she deliberately being funny with me? I know you'll probably say the former!!
