I was just wondering if anyone knew who was actually Italian on the series, since it was based on an Italian mob family.

Check this out - study the body language of AJ entering the restaurant, right behind the alleged hit-man, Phil's Nephew (check the credits). However, look again, AJ is waltzing in right behind Nikki as if Nikki did not exist - but was pasted into the picture later. Did Tony imagine him coming in? Am I that far off?

How can those other hit-men or characters, completely frozen in time with their apparel, be real? (Boy scouts at a diner? C'mon!)

If that is the case - Tony is alive and well. No?

One of the lyrics of the Journey song "Don't Stop Believin'" is "workin' hard to get my fill, everybody wants a thrill". Tony finally got PHIL and we got a "thrill" from it. Too bad that was the only "thrill" of the episode. Another lyric in that song is "Some will win, some will lose, some of us will sing the blues". David Chase and HBO won, while we all lost and are singing the blues for a really disappointing finale.

OK, enough about Tony! Was the way that Phil died the best or what? I loved that part of the show. I didn't like the ending but come on, the way Phil died was awesome and the dude that threw up! That was halarious!! What do you think and is there going to be a movie.

Has everyone heard that those suspicious looking people in the diner were enemies of Tony, on past episodes? If that's the case, I would have to say that Tony, in his paranoid state (as well as a realistic fear that there are people out there who want him dead), imagined them. I say this because the people were from different parts of Tony's background, and it would be completely unlikely that they would all converge on this one little diner at the same time, or were acting in some coordinated effort (i.e. revenging Phil's death). If I'm right, then Tony was neither whacked nor arrested. How does everyone else feel about this?

I remember tony talking to someone and they said when you die, you just fade to black. Is that what happened?

Or are we looking at a movie coming out?

It was a brilliant move by David Chase. I knew all along that Tony wouldn't get killed or go to jail. That would be too anticlimactic. The guy at the counter was Furio ( with short hair, look close ), and when he came out of the bathroom he may or may not have killed Tony. Either way, it was a brilliant ending, since people will be talking about it for years to come. And it still leaves open the possibility for a return either by television or a movie. No matter what, this was one of the best shows ever in TV history.

I just got this email...thought it was VERY interesting:

OK, at first I was really angry. I mean really, really angry. I can't believe though that no-one has posted by now what happened. The only thing I saw that was right, was that in the last scene we are seeing through Tony's eyes. Remember when he was speaking with Bobby...basically saying that you don't see it happening?

So here is what I found out. The guy at the bar is also credited as Nikki Leotardo. The same actor played him in the first part of season 6 during a brief sit down concerning the future of Vito. That wasn't that long ago. Apparently, he is the nephew of Phil. Phil's brother Nikki Senior was killed in 1976 in a car accident. Absolutely Genius!!!! David Chase is truly rewarding the true fans who pay attention to detail.

So the point would have been that life continues and we may never know the end of the Sopranos. But if you pay attention to the history, you will find that all the answers lie in the characters in the restaurant. The trucker was the brother of the guy who was robbed by Christopher in Season 2. Remember the DVD players? The trucker had to identify the body. The boy scouts were in the train store when bobby got shot last week and the black guys at the end were the ones who tried to kill Tony and only clipped him in the ear (was that season 2 or 3?). Car jack episode

Absolutely incredible!!!! There were three people in the restaurant who had reason to kill Tony and then it just ends. This was Chase's way of proving that he will not escape his past. It will not go on forever despite that he would like it to "don't stop". Not the fans!!! Tony would like it to keep going but just as we have to say goodbye, so does he. No more Tony and I guess we are supposed to be happy that Meadow didn't get clipped as well (she would have been between the shooter and Tony) since she is the only one worth a crap in that family.

Brainiacs: This true story, circa Mid 80s, Mid 90s was the basis for a book later turned into a TV movie where the guy (a doctor? a professional?) sadistically torments his wife.

I don't recall if he actually killed her; but the guy was on 60 Minutes and said he was innocent of the crimes he was charged with.

This made-for-TV movie may've been a two-parter on NBC or CBS, as well as had another version of the same story on ABC. The man himself was permitted to watch the movie(s) from his prison cell.

Does anybody out there recall this story, title(s), actors, etc?

Much obliged amigos and amigas in advance.

I say Tony died because (1) the instant fade to black suggests death by gunshot: quick and instant, (2) it echos that conversation on the boat with Tony and Bobby where Bobby said something like "you will not even feel it when it hits you" (3) no music at the end like all the other episodes...silent like death

Ok, it's total fiction but clearly this guy Chase wants a "discuss amongst yourselves" ending so here it goes..

I love the Sopranos. I patiently waited for them to sort out what ever the problems were to film the next season and i did think well its been too long forget it i cant watch it now. I thought i wouldnt remember plots and who got whacked etc. Then i watch this seasons first episode and i was hooked again. The past episodes i was sitting on the edge of my chair and the finale episode last night. I thought my heart was going to pop out of my chest because i was into it. Then it just seems after the first half hour everything was ok??? The only great thing was that Latardeo was whacked. The whole resturant scene i was like Tonys going to die No the whole family was going to die excpet Meadow because she cant paralle park(i cant either HAHA) I truly was let down in the end. I am so disapointed. What did you think about the last episode?? The good side to it,it was left open for maybe one more show...
