Television (Entertainment & Music) - 16 March 2007

I thoroughly enjoyed it. The idea of a guy who left town in search of himself and then wrote a book and returned to his hometown roots years later struck a resonating chord with me. I'm going to try not to get too attached to it though, because it's got a storyline that isn't comical, there's no "musical beds" a la Desparate Housewives, and it takes intellect and introspection to appreciate it. That means it'll probably be canceled in another 4-5 weeks.

Can I attend an open call for ANTM 9 if I already sent in a completed application package to the producers?

I went ahead and sent in an application because at first they were due on Feb. 23 and they didn't have up any open call locations. Now they've extended the deadline to April 6 and they have an open call location close to where I live. I want to go, but I don't know if that's allowed. Does anyone know??? PLEASE HELP!!!!!

What kind of sicko thinks about "dead puppies" to prevent crying at her wedding?

Has anyone seen that new Kleenex ad where the lady is telling the story of her wedding, and how she was trying to not cry because she did not want to ruin her makeup? So, she explains that she was walking towards her future husband thinking "dead puppies, dead puppies." What kind of sicko thinks about "dead puppies" to prevent crying?

I believe Kleenex products are made by the Kimberly Clark Co. right here in my neighborhood (Neenah, Wisconsin), and now I think I see why they have had to shut down plants and lay-off tons of employees over the last few years. Perhaps their marketing executives should think through these ads a little bit more before they put them on TV.

Now I have heard about thinking of dead puppies to prevent sexual arousal... but to prevent crying? Shouldn't she have been thinking about flowers and sunshine or something? Sick? Do you agree???

Homicide: Life on the streets...there was a coroners assistant on there named "Shiner." Who was he?

I know this is really a long shot, but I'd like to know a little more about him. It looked like he had suffered a stroke or something. Any info? Trust me, I tried looking it up myself but I am having absolutely NO luck.
