I thoroughly enjoyed it. The idea of a guy who left town in search of himself and then wrote a book and returned to his hometown roots years later struck a resonating chord with me. I'm going to try not to get too attached to it though, because it's got a storyline that isn't comical, there's no "musical beds" a la Desparate Housewives, and it takes intellect and introspection to appreciate it. That means it'll probably be canceled in another 4-5 weeks.

Becky, Nick is played by Bryan Greenberg. He has been a reccurring character named Jake on One Tree Hill for the last 3 years and was also in Prime the movie with Uma Thurman last year.

As far as October Road, it seems like a really great show, but I don't see it making it because it is on ABC and it seems more of a WB/CW show. It would be a perfect show to pair with Gilmore Girls or something like that. The Grey's audience probably is not the right kind to ask a show like that to retain. It reminded me a little bit of Everwood. I saw one critic in a magazine called it Dawson's Creek meets Ed. That wasn't the feeling I got although we all know the son will end up being Nick's.

My question is how do you go away for 6 weeks and be gone for 10 years?? That is what got me. I mean, REALISTICALLY, this is impossible since it seems like his parents weren't rich and he was going backpacking to Europe. I don't know, I am sure that is a part of why they wrote it that way, so they can explain it.

Too bad this show isn't on another network

I enjoyed October Road, although I thought almost too much was revealed in the first episode. I would have enjoyed it more if the main character didn't find out about his son until a little later down the road. I like the actors, particularly Laura Prepon who plays Hannah. She's beautiful yet classy and warm. I thought there were a few stereotypes, such as the prodigal son who hasn't returned home in ten years. Wow! Ten years is a long time when you're going on a road trip and you've promised to return. I like it though and I'm not getting too attached either because I know that is the time slot for Men In Trees.

I hope it lasts. I liked the show very much. I also enjoyed the music selection they picked out. I like the storylines. I wish there was really such a book so I could read it and see why people are so mad. I hope this show goes on for a while.

Yep, i would be gazing it; it is approximately time the television networks realised there are extra activities than soccer in this united states of america. it is likewise great that Britain is, returned, cyber web hosting a important international championships. it is likewise short-direction swimming, that's stable relaxing - shame it is no longer in the Olympics. And its have been given the superb Clare Balding featuring it!

I didn't think it was too bad. But I don't think it will last more than 10 episodes. I don't know...it just seemed like they tried to push a lot of story line into 1 hour. And I'm not sure if I'm going to like the acting of the lead character...only time can tell.

I think it's a cute show. I love the chemistry between Nick and Hannah. But, I agree that it will probably be folded soon. It may be a little too boring for most viewers and it was in "Grey's Anatomy" normal time slot. "October Roads" future is questionable, we shall see!

I really like it because these situations happen in everyday life. I moved from a small town when I was younger but I always go back and this show shows what would have happened if I didn't go back. It's message is don't leave those you love behind.

I loved the show and would watch it even if it were not on after Grey's. I really liked the guy who played Nick.....where has he been hiding?? Why does everyone think it will be canceled? Not all good shows are canceled....well, okay, maybe they are, but this one doesn't have to be!

I thought the show was so good! I can not wait to see the next one. I think it has a great feeling to it, like something that is true to real life. I think not everyone will love it, but it is very easily relate-able.

I thought it was great. I loved the music choices they made. It had emotion and intelligence. And like you said, it probably won't last. But I sure hope it does!
