I recently heard "Heart of the Sunrise" and loved the way they covered it so now I have to buy some of their music. I'm amazed that I've never heard them before!
Which albums are your favorites?

Ok, here it goes.....Long shot....but I know the brainiacs out there will know this.

There is a song that is usually played about this time of year. No, not Christmas songs and not Auld Lang Syne....well sort of.

There is a song that is about a couple that are no longer a couple and they happen upon a chance meeting in a store..grocery store (I think) and Auld Lang Syne is part of the song.

Anybody know of it???

General old band jokes or jokes about a rock or pop figure. Have fun. Whoever makes me laugh the hardest wins.

I'll start it off with an old standard that makes me chuckle, set the bar pretty low.

What happened when the singer locked the keys in the car?

The bass player couldn't get out.

I’m of the belief that this might top the list for the single most stupid and annoying question in this solar system. However, maybe there is a logical explanation as to the source of this infection. I’ll throw some out; perhaps working together we can solve this mysterious affliction.

1. Radio never embraced the new decade since they continued to play Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Green Day everyday, every hour as if we were still in the 90’s.
2. People are lazier than ever and don’t bother to look unless it’s handed to them on a silver platter.
3. Once we get older, we become partial to the music of our relative youth. Therefore, nothing that comes out after could ever be better. I call it the generation effect.
4. Too many people are still busy crying over Guns N Roses. Time to move on, there ain’t nothing to see here.

1.I may be a real bad boy but baby im a real good man(country song)
2.Just to see you smile I'd do anything that you wanted me to and all is said and done ill never count the cost cause its worth all thats lost just to see you smile.
3.Oh I....I've done alot of things different people say they wouldnt change a thing but id do a lot of things different.
4.Leave me breathless go on come leave me breathless
5. He's got pictures on the wall of all the girls he's loved he dont know anything about her i wish i could make her see she's just the flavor of the week.
5 If your gonna leave you better get goin cause im not wasting no more time on what we did and what we didnt If your gonna leave you better start running cause i aint wasting no more time on what might have been

I was thinking about this as I was looking through my CD collection. There are a lot of artists that I used to love, love, LOVE "back in the day" (for whatever reason), and while I still look fondly on their work (it'll always hold that place in my heart), for the most part, I've kind of outgrown them.

This may sound blasphemous to some, but for me, one of those artists is the Sex Pistols. *ducks flying tomatoes* Are they great? Yes. Brilliant? Absolutely! Do I still like them? Of course!

But as I've gotten older and a little more mellow (but only just a little!) I've found that "God Save The Queen" is more a great tune than an anthem anymore.

So who are your favorite "outgrown" artists?

No judgement...this is a happy place.

OK, I met Charley about 6 years ago and have been to see him in concert about 20 times since then...my question is why do you think 99% of his concerts are in CANADA AND IRELAND latlely? My friend called me last year and she wanted to go with me to see him again..well every time we check..he's ONLY playing in DUBLIN IRELAND-KILLARNEY,IRELAND-CASTLEBAR,IRELAND-ALBERTA CANADA-ONTARIO??? HE has about 3 shows in this country
i think,do you think it has anything to do with the SAD STATE THAT COUNTRY MUSIC IS IN TODAY OR.......?

JUST CURIOUS..THANKS!

My son can’t read music yet, and he has just learned the key of C. He is in a beginning piano book and I bought all 3 of them. It has a lot of activates, but only a few song. I have him color the notes and stuff like that but not songs. It has 1 basic song each unit and he would like to apply his learning more then that. Is there any free songs on the internet I could print out in the key of C, no chords, and not reading music yet?

Thanks,
Kelsi

I think the song was more of a funny song. I think it had references to a store, and possibly the daughter of the owner.

I'm guessing either The Doors or Jimi Hendrix.
Anyone know?

You can hear a live version of the song here, if it helps: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNvePvMJYqs

It's a sweet little song about getting his hair cut by a former Iraqi woman in her apartment. In the song, he says:

"Your hands are soft
your hands are soft just like silk
You're a drop of blood
You're a drop of blood in my glass of milk "

I'm trying to figure out what he means by 'a drop of blood in my glass of milk' - what this is meant to symbolize or represent.

What do you think it means?

I am writing a paper, and I am having trouble defining this. I mean, sooo many people say they don't like a band because they are too 'mainstream'.
I used to think that it meant the band was on MTV, but I believe Chiodos and Escape The Fate are on one of their channels...so I am just trying to get a general consesus...
Thanks
