shed some light on this for me...
OK, I met Charley about 6 years ago and have been to see him in concert about 20 times since then...my question is why do you think 99% of his concerts are in CANADA AND IRELAND latlely? My friend called me last year and she wanted to go with me to see him again..well every time we check..he's ONLY playing in DUBLIN IRELAND-KILLARNEY,IRELAND-CASTLEBAR,IRELAND-ALBERTA CANADA-ONTARIO??? HE has about 3 shows in this country
i think,do you think it has anything to do with the SAD STATE THAT COUNTRY MUSIC IS IN TODAY OR.......?

JUST CURIOUS..THANKS!

I think it is because of what you said and also for some reason a good portion of the dumba@@ people in this country don't truly accept him. I say the lleh with those people. This man can sing with the best of them. I love his style his sound and his personality. Those jerkoffs in Nashville need to go back under the rock they crawled out from under. Talk about an under rated talent there is one.. This is a great question Okie. Have a star and know that I wish I could give you three.

I believe that you are on the money here Okie and the main reason could well be that he is fed up with today's country music scene and feels more appreciated in other venues. He is and always will be one of the greatest entertainers of my generation whether Nashville ever wants to accept that or not I could give a damn less. He is country and always will be. It is the people who have not ever seen a Charley Pride show who are truly missing out. I have seen him several times in concert and everytime I walked away knowing that my money was well spent and the crowd got their monies worth too. Long live the great Charley Pride.

To be honest, I hate A Skylit Drive and As Blood Runs Black. However, We Came as Romans are pretty decent. There are some key bands you forgot there, but that's unimportant. Regardless, while oftentimes I find older music is better than some of the newer stuff, that doesn't always apply. Some of my favorite bands are from more recent times. My second favorite band formed in '93 (Floater, from Oregon) and my favorite folk metal band (Tuatha de Danann, Celtic folk from Brazil) formed in 1995. So I agree with you. Although Elitists of any genre are f*cking twatbag morons, the Classic Rock Elitists are some of the most annoying.

I am from Ontario Canada and Charley plays all over, in small towns or in Country Music festivals all over the Canada. Everyone in my family are huge Charley fans. I suppose one reason would be that his ticket sales are good here for Hockey Arena's and auditoriums.

I follow a Southern Gospel singer that is African-American(Jessie Dixon) and he does a lot of stand alone concerts in Europe. The African American singers of Gospel and country are very much in demand for their talent in Ireland,England,Finland,Sweden,Norway..
The culture in these countrys embrace the sounds of these singers and they sell out concerts nightly and their record sales are thru the roof.

He played the Opry earlier this year. My boss got to see him (I was jealous). But that's like Gail Davies - most of her shows are in Wales these days. There's a growing fan base in the UK and they aren't as big into the modern guys like McGraw & Chesney and they're more accepting of being older. Here it's all flash and smile. There's it's MUSIC.

Let's get him back to England,I keep looking at his web site tour dates, but nothing.
Ever since my wife heard Crystal Chandeliers, she adored that voice.
