All I can think of right now is all the Zeps that were inspired or made allusions to Lord of the Rings and Pink Floyd's Animals being based on Orwell's Animal Farm. I know there is a Rush inspired by LotR but I can't seem to remember at the moment.

All i know is that it is a checkmate guitar. i got it from my grandma. it has a cherry color trim, with gold inside, and has a black looking patch with a gold monogram look inside it. All it says on it, is Checkmate. I cannot find any numbers other than a little tag on the inside that says G145. Any help would be appreciated! Also, what would it be worth? Thank you!

I was watching an /old/ episode of Jerry Springer on youtube [when it was actually a serious show] and it was the show that GG Allin appeared on, but that's not relevent.

A attorney or barristor that was on the show mentioned that he was involved in a case where two young males had killed themselves after listening to a song that told them to do so by Judas Priest =s.

Music is obviously influencial, and for some people it's their personal reality or their escape from reality.
Have you had an experience where a song influenced you to do something?
Perhaps not as extreme as my example - but something worth taking notice of.

A song didn't really influence me, but confirmed my feelings on where a relationship was going. I ended up breaking up with my partner after listening to the song on repeat for about 2 hours straight.

It happens to me every now and then, and usually it's because there are certain aspects of the music I like, and others that I don't, and I can't which wins out.

Guess this is akin to 'guilty pleasures' in a way.

Though I'm always one of the 1st here to throw in my 2 cents when people call bands like Green Day or Blink 182 "punk", I have to admit to actually liking a handful of tunes by certain acts.

I remember back around '94 or so when Green Day 1st hit it big, I *really* liked "When I Come Around". (though this was before people started calling them punk) Thought it was a great blend of a punk *inspired* sound & listener-friendly pop.

To my ears, they actually wrote a few tunes that had real balls. "Geek Stink Breath" is a damn good rocker.
"Warning" is one catchy as hell tune, though it's nearly note for note to The Kinks' "Picture Book". (go listen to em back to back & you'll see!)

A couple of summers back, I liked Good Charlotte's "Boys & Girls". THAT song, to me, had the Beach Boys written All over it. Just louder & more revved up.


Think of more as they come to me.
