Back in the day ,people like Michael Jackson made fascinating music videos that made one appreciate songs even more. These days , a lot of music videos are just full of half naked men and women ( mostly women) writhing about like snakes.Even a decent romantic or inspirational song which should have a fitting video still gets the 'sleazy music video ' treatment. In my opinion some of the music videos around should have certification like movies. Music producers are just working the 'sex sells' strategy for music videos way too much and it really takes away from the actual talent of the performers themselves (if they have any) .

To Me Bob Seger is the preeminenet American Rocker and Singer Songwriter and has been for 30 Years. But You almost never hear anything about Him.
Night Moves alone should earn Him the respect of being one of the greatest American musical artists ever.
Anyone else think Seger is horribly overlooked and underappreciated?

I think the current generation of rock fans don't really know these, but back in the day, a band was almost *required* to have a cool logo.

Today, I guess they're seen as passe &"cheesy".

But I think a few of them were great works of design. I'd be curious to see any new ones if they *are* still being made & I'm just unaware of it.

I noticed most metal bands do the tattoo/'sharp edge" thing.

But here go some of my fave classics:

...the band switched from R&B to a more 'Garage Rock' type sound by the late 60's. This wrestler/singer went on to manage some of the biggest names in wrestling!
Who was he, and what was the name of the band?

My boyfriend mangaged to ruin this song for his sister as it was her fav song until he pointed out that in Toni braxton's Unbreak my heart, "Say that you love me" sounds like sage and onion!

I dont know how but i always heard "streetlight" instead of "streetlife"!

Any others!!!?

Are there any here on R&P?
I don't think i've ever spoken to any..
I feel alone in my love, but i'm sure there are at least a few people that like them, they wern't particularly obscure in their day were they? Hmm, i wouldn't know.

What's your favourite song and/or album by them?
I've been listening to Sweet Oblivion a lot lately.

In the song 'Caro Mio Ben', is the "credimi almen" part pronounced as 'cre-di-mial-men' (the mi and al share 1 note) or 'cre-di-al-men' (w/o the 'mi')? I've heard it sung both ways by professionals and I've no idea which is correct. I've to prepare this song for my next lesson and want to at least get the pronunciation right. Also, is 'finisca' sung 'finis-ka' or 'finis-chia' (with a very short 'i' sound)? Again I've heard it done both ways. And no I don't own any singers' pronunciation guide yet. I've barely started lessons - the only reason why I'm learning that song is because I made some really rapid progress in a few lessons.

I'm currently majoring in piano performance (bachelor of music degree with honours) at a local music conservatory. I would like to further my musical studies in europe after I graduate. Does anyone know any websites that can tell me more about the european conservatories (not just the famous schools)? I've tried searching for 'studying music in europe' on google, yahoo, etc. and nothing particularly useful came up. Calling in isn't an option (overseas call fees) for now. My further studies will be obviously majoring in piano performance (like getting a Masters degree or equivalent qualifications), but I'm also thinking of possibly doing a minor in classical vocal studies if I've the potential to (as yet I'm not very sure what my potential is, but according to my vocal teacher, she says I've quite a good voice and will definitely be able to at least teach next time). I've only recently started vocal lessons. Any helpful info on how studying in europe may be like would be appreciated.
