Are there any here on R&P?
I don't think i've ever spoken to any..
I feel alone in my love, but i'm sure there are at least a few people that like them, they wern't particularly obscure in their day were they? Hmm, i wouldn't know.

What's your favourite song and/or album by them?
I've been listening to Sweet Oblivion a lot lately.

huge_f_in_dork - good choice =]

eriverpipe - Maybe i'll start a Screaming Trees movement here in London, hehe.
Awww [to the wife comment].
Seems the tracklist idea didn't happen. =[

cobra - I agree, Lanegan's voice is wonderful. Which solo album? He's released quite a few, and i really like most of them.

Sookie - I agree. When people think grunge, they think Nirvana, AIC etc, I hardly ever see a mention of Screaming Trees.

Given2Fly - Indeed they did

Les Douze Jours de Saturnales - that's perfectly understandable =]

No you;re not alone... there is a small but dedicated (to the extent of catching Lanagan twice in his last tour) group of fans here in Leeds/ Sheffield UK...
I have just found and bought an import copy of 1988's 'Invisible Lantern' which i don;t think ever got a UK release - and that's in my car CD changer. My favourite song is 'Look At You' as some of the lyrics sum up how I feel about my wife.... (aww.....)
Add: hey!! Cool: previous poster picks 'All I Know' and i go for 'Look At You' If there's another poster- to keep the 'track list of Dust in order' theme going - you gotta choose 'Dying Days'....

I thought they were one of the better grunge bands.

Check out Mark Lanegen's work with Greg Dulli of The Afghan Whigs coming out soon.. The Gutter Twins in the new band..

I love them......Sweet Oblivion is definitely my favorite album. My foavorite songs are Dollar Bill and Shadow of the Season. They've always seemed to be on the fringe of the grunge scene......but they've always been a fave of mine.

Screaming Trees were brilliant, Halo of Ashes always springs to mind, Mark Lanegen has the voice of an angel (I can't bekieve I just said something so cliched)
What did you think of his solo album?

*raising hand* I'm one!

I loved those guys, and I thought they were completely overlooked during the huge grunge explosion. My favorite album is "Sweet Oblivion" and my favorite track is "Dollar Bill".

Transfiguration was their best song

I stopped liking them once they became more successful, it wasn't a knee-jerk reaction of principle or anything, I just thought the sound was going downhill
