...the band switched from R&B to a more 'Garage Rock' type sound by the late 60's. This wrestler/singer went on to manage some of the biggest names in wrestling!

Beatle Fanatic - Check out their 1970 self titled album released on the famous 'Sun Records' label. It's been reissued on CD and titled 'The Best of The Gentry's, Cinnamon Girl'. Odd title considering the CD does not contain any early material by the band, only tracks from their ST album. Great garage rock album in the style of The Rationals, early Brownsville Station etc. They even do a very respectable of cover of Neil Young's Cinnamon Girl! Much different from their earlier material. Here's the link:

Jimmy Hart of The Gentrys (Keep on Dancin). The band's previous name was The Gents.
Prof. Anger was close.

Hmmm, just a guess, but would it be "the mouth of the south" Jimmy Hart? I know he played on Hulk Hogan's album.
