That's what kurt cobain wrote in his letter but could it really be true that guy was a druggie drop dead loser if it wasn't for his music and I'm a hudge fan. But I wouldn't want the life that he had I'd just want his fame money and to be able to play the songs he did which I do. He must of knew he would have caused some controversy doing what he did because it sounds like he's indirectly talking to his fans. Some girl at the time his band was around listened to his music loud and her bedroom and blew her brains out with a gun. How could that be a better way to leave the planet. Just imagine if we died and were reborn in another life we could take the skills we learned and use them in that planet. So I think that for most people there much better off to fade out and grow families and live happily ever after don't you think?

I like punk and alternative rock because I was one of those born and breed with bands like nirvana and nine inch nails so I like my trash metal but it's getting repetive I need to be able to play some nice melodies on guitar as well. Something that we can all relate to. But something nice and easy I don't want to sit there for ten years learning how to play. I am getting a guitar book that will show me how but they haven't got my order in just yet. So any ideas on what I just said?

Ok I have two main questions I want to ask 1.) Would I need a better guitar for soloing?; I'm trying to learn how to do big kick butt solos and hammerons and pull offs and licks and all that. I have an Ibanez which I bought with a small amp for $900 Australian which in America is probably only $500. Would I need a heaps better guitar to solo properly I can't seem to get the noses that I want out of the guitar when I'm learning from the books

2). As for second question what is the best way I can learn to solo properly? I'm talking play like queen or big rock bands. I'm learning from the books at the moment with a book called lead progression although I'm just not nailing it right. Do you think that I would be better off with leasons? If someone showed that's what I've been contiplating? Thanx for your help.

I have such a strong desire to marry a pianist and that has been the holdout. Maturity too, but I really want to marry a person with musical talent (as I feel I do) and would make such a union so inspiring! Fortunately, I am a dabbler and self-taught in piano and voice with great musical knack so my inspiration from a great pianist would never end!

How can I marry a person who has piano ability? Not necessarily concert pianist, but perhaps church pianist...or hobbie pianist? I am so devoted to this instrument I can't imagine living without it and if I could choose a partner, it would have to be a pianist who can understand this strong feeling toward music and piano.

If you don't have one then find one fast. I am serious, it is of great importance to have a favorite Cher song.

For me, it was the first time I watched The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus. I was probably 9 or 10 and I found it very amusing the way Ian Anderson moved. They played Song For Jeffrey and after that I had to hear more...I bought Living In The Past (a greatest hits) to get me started....well, I don't guess I bought it...my parents bought it.

After hearing for so long that Pink Floyd's 'Dark Side of the Moon' is one of the best albums, i've given it a listen and don't really feel it. What are your thoughts?

It has sort of a moody beat to it with the lyric "I will go down with this ship." It goes on and on until the line "I'll surrender."

Who sings this and what is the title? I don't need the lyrics.

Murray Perahia in 1994, mulling over career decisions he had made, in search for something 'bigger', in search of an 'heroic' style, concluded ruefully that he had consequently made the mistake of thinking that it could be gained through 'being louder'. I recognise myself as having committed that fallacy at some point in the past too. Is this a purely pianistic affliction, or are we musicians all heir to this particular 'sin of the musical flesh' at some point in our development?

I've been trying to learn how to read and compose music and found several tutorials on the basics of reading music, but still have a lot of questions. The main ones I'll ask for now are:

1) Is there a more detailed tutorial/PDF online that explains EVERY symbol, marking, notation, and thier proper uses?

2) What do the thin double-bars denote?

I know a single thin line marks/divides measures, a thick-&-thin pair marks the begining & end of the piece, and a thick-&-thin pair with dots mark a repeated section, but have no clue what the thin double bars mean and none of the basic tutorials I've read explain it.
