I have such a strong desire to marry a pianist and that has been the holdout. Maturity too, but I really want to marry a person with musical talent (as I feel I do) and would make such a union so inspiring! Fortunately, I am a dabbler and self-taught in piano and voice with great musical knack so my inspiration from a great pianist would never end!

How can I marry a person who has piano ability? Not necessarily concert pianist, but perhaps church pianist...or hobbie pianist? I am so devoted to this instrument I can't imagine living without it and if I could choose a partner, it would have to be a pianist who can understand this strong feeling toward music and piano.

I would question the principle that someone's musical ability (pianistic or otherwise) is the soundest basis for marriage. Whilst I understand your desire for a muse and kindred spirit, a relationship based on this alone could be a recipe for disaster. It is likely that your interest in this field of art is likely to bring you into contact with potential candidates for such a deeply committed and long term relationship. But the decision to enter into such a relationship should be based on mutual compatibility, values and dare I say it; mutual love. If you can find such a person and they also have the pianistic abilities that you value so highly then good for you, but those same abilities cannot be priority number one - three or four maybe.

I'm sorry, but I am not available.......

I married a person who had limited abilities at the piano, but who did share an appreciation of good music. Her taste is more eclectic than mine, and so I learned much from her. She gave me Joan Baez, Judy Collins, and Janis Joplin, I gave her Brahms, Chopin and Mozart -- and lo and behold, she developed a passion for opera that I never had, so we discovered it together.

We should marry with those who share our passions, that is just natural, and probably one of the keys to a good marriage.

I wish you the best!

unfortunately, as much as you'd like to, you can't limit yourself to just someone's musical ability. you'll miss out on too much. if you know piano, try to teach your partner piano. it will bring you so much closer together, and they could develop a love for the instrument you too enjoy.

I don't think you can be so specific as to who you want to fall in love with... spouses don't come in packages my friend.
