So what is rock music? What do the lyrics mean? Im tired of most white people comlpaining about rap music. Id rather listen to rap then some emo shyt with people complaining about there lifes cause they got dumped by some hott girl and now they cut there dick off and stuff. How can people say classical rock is better tehn todays rap. What if i said old school hip hop is better then classical rap. lol what now !

I listen to almost every genre of music- miles davis jazz/blues to the sex pistols to Run Dmc to Green day. You can't force people to like the music that you do, it's their choice. People who diss hip hop now, obviously have never heard of Run Dmc, Common, Talib Kweli,Slick Rick, LL cool J, Mc Lyte, Nas, 2Pac etc... I hate the rap that's popular today that doesn't make any sense.

Well.. rock is complicated, it is about the struggles of life, drugs, love, and lust. What is rap??? I'll tell you what it is...its crap music... It is about the same three things...crack, hookers, and big booties.I give rap 5 years for it to die.
Its pretty sad that music nowadays is Emo and Rap..Why does rap turn old after 2 months?? Classic Rock will never die down, rap will...

Rock is music that includes a guitar, bass, and drums (usually) dont try looking to deeply into it... I mean, what is rap? words that rhyme?. I dont care if you think rap is better. What if I said that all rap songs sound the same. Rock has been around a long time and has many sub-genres(sometimes bands have combined rock and rap and made some very good music). Dont listen to that garbage rock that they play on the radio, you gotta go back a few years to find the good stuff.

I dont listen to rap, because the words mean nothing to me... and that's not an insult. You find meaning behind the lyrics...that's all that matters.

BTW dont listen to the guy below me... Ratt, Twisted Sister and Motley Crue are embarrassments to rock|(and music itself)

Well I think that most of today's rock/emo is just like pop songs with guitars. But when you get into classic rock...that's great stuff. Try Guns N' Roses, espeically their earlier stuff and AC/DC and Led Zeppelin. Especially Kashmire. I love that song. If you don't like that stuff , that's sad. But I like some rap music. I think people should be more open minded about different styles of music.

Don't be an idiot. it IS music. i guess if you have a severe objection to it then you could listen to folk or techno or something. but rap music is just endless posturing that makes me want to throw up. rock music is where most forms of popular music evolved from, and its only top 40 artists who ***** about sucky relationships. Classic Rock, Grunge, Punk, Metal and Folk Rock all have alott more to say.

Real rock is Sex, Drugs, and Partying. The 80's guys sang all about it. If you wanna hear real rock, listen to some Motley Crue, Cinderella, Ratt, Guns N Roses, Twisted Sister, and some of that stuff. It's true rock, before Nirvana messed everything up.

Everyone has his own taste. Rock music is music that rocks. Sounds lame but it's like that. I try to imagine how you 'rock' with Rap, maybe just some head nodding and some middle finger. But again, I listen to every music and find its own good.

I choose classic Rock and have self belief it or no longer gained a flavor for Hip Hop and selection. no longer too undesirable for an older guy. I won't say I hate us of a whether this is on the backside of my checklist.

Rock is lashing out at things that piss you off, Friends who go behind your back, a crap government, someone being dieing who didn't deserve it, Rage against the Machine, Pantera, Tool, Pink Floyd... That, is rock.
