I hear a ton of people nowadays say how much they love Pink Floyd, that I've actually quite listening to them. I hate being like everybody else.

I listen to the words over and over and it seems to me like he's talking about he's in hell by some of the sad and bizzare things that he sees. There's a skeleton choking on a crust of bread, There's a salmon stuck up in a waterfall, and he keeps asking "Is my soul up there?" You guys remember "King of Pain" by the Police, I have the greatest hits but I remember when this song came out I'm 29 years old. This song though when I was young was creepy, plus as a child I had a high imagination..."Swamp Thing, Poltergeist, Alien, Dune, Clockwork Orange, a lot of bizzare and scary sh*t from the 80's man for real. Anyway, back to this song, what is Sting and the Police talking about with this whole song?

I recently saw the traditional BBC Scotland "Hogmanay" show and was very surprised - pleasantly so- by the inclusion of this young guy "Paulo Nutini" who I must say, has an unusual approach.

His rendition of "Auld lang syne" was very much in the tradition of Glesca drunk singing. yet he is obviously talented, and I was surprised when his mummy said he was only 19. He is obviously talented but what is his normal musical genre? Does he write his own material?

I must say he provided a change from the usual "Aly Bain and Phil cunningham" fare which- with no disrespect to these two great musicians - sounded like it had dead lice dropping off it, in comparison.

Is this young gentleman the future of Scottish music? I sort of hope he is!

My partner was listening to a Welsh ballard singer recently and i can't recall his name. I want to buy him a cd but want it to be a surprise. I know that the singer is no longer alive but he is very much liked in Wales. If you could give me some names i might recall.
Many thanks

Which musical artist from the year 2000 - the present do you believe has made the worst carrier move to date?

I never was a huge No Doubt fan but I'd have to say Gwen Stephani...she went from having a huge following to recording 2...yes 2 horrific sounding pop / so called "rap" albums. Garbage...my ears are still bleeding from Rich Girl, Holla Back Girl and Wind it Up as well as Cool.

Emo is god-awful. How did a bunch of pretty-boy white kids wearing sweaters and crying about how their girlfriend left them (maybe they wouldn't have left if you HAD A PAIR) ever in a million years become associated with my crew - the beer-swilling, moshing, boot stomping, OI! chanting, mohawk and studded leather jacket guys? We beat the $h** out of you kids.. give us back our genre! The Warped Tour sucks because of kids like you. Do us all a favor and swallow a razor blade!
