Which band that use to be good during their heyday that is still around today needs to stop now before destroying any more of their legacy or origonal street credit?

Not sure if this is a band, but BEASTIE BOYS!!!
So I've owned License to Ill for a while, great cd, smart lyrics, great music to me. I love the beastie boys.
When I heard they were coming out with To The 5 Burroughs, I was pretty damn excited and bought it upon first week of sale. I've never been let down more by an album more than I was with this. And all the lyrics are TERRIBLE, the rhymes make just as little sense as ever (except less catchy and/or funny, but rather embarassing). AND THEY QUIT USING REAL INSTRUMENTS!!!! Gah. And MCA sounds like he spent his off time before this album gargling glass. Its terrible. Call it a career guys. You had a good run.

that's sort of a hard question, a lot of band/performers, get a couple of hit and think can do nothing wrong, are realize that it wont last and try and put out as much as they can. but there a few that go through this period, and come out with great things again, few last this period though, and quit frankly shouldn't.
i had a friend in a band called cop shoot cop, and they were around for a while, and i asked Jim what you gonna name the next album. he said ya know when a band been around for a while it starts to suck. i said yea. he said were calling the last album suck city here we come. and they did. funny ha.

I think U2, theyve had a great run but their songs arent what they used to be! Bono can do so much for the UN etc which is essentially more important, plus they gotta retire sometime!
