My partner was listening to a Welsh ballard singer recently and i can't recall his name. I want to buy him a cd but want it to be a surprise. I know that the singer is no longer alive but he is very much liked in Wales. If you could give me some names i might recall.

Do you mean a real(Welsh-speaking Welsh) or pseudo(English-speaking Welsh) Welsh singer? The real ones that could have been singing ballads;
