When I was a little kid in the early to mid 1980's, there was a song on the radio that my father had loved at the time. Unfortunately, neither of us knew the name of the song or the artist, but I would love to be able to get a recording of that song. I will try my best to describe it.
The artist made it sound like a 1950's song. The vocals were performed by a woman. And, all I really remember is the chorus, which went something like this:
Under the mailbox, down by Main Street
Hear the boys sing, got good sound
Under the clock......
That's all I can really remember. It was certainly not a hit. It was rarely played but he was able to tape it off the radio one time back then (I remember him waiting and waiting and waiting for it to come on the radio). Of course, the tape is nowhere to be found. The few times we heard it, it was played on mainstream stations back then (I think like Z100 in New York).
Any help would be appreciated. This song is a rarity.
