Trombone man I dont care if its bass or tenor they're awsome! They can go low high and play really loud! Up grading allows you to increase any of these areas.

The guitar. You can take it with you. You can be unplugged; It can be acoustic or acoustic/ electric. It's inexpensive, not heavy. You can write or sing songs when you play. And it really tells the story.
