Having been in the business for a long time, I find it curious that there is such a gravitation towards Gibson, Fender, and others. There are many brands that crush the 'big names' as far as sound and workmanship (at much better prices), yet somehow these few giants of commerce have convinced players that their products are superior when in fact they are usually 'just OK'. I concede the fact that these makers were the benchmark of guitars- 50 years ago- but now they are built just like every other production guitar- by machine with a small amount of handwork.

Keytars (keyboard guitars) do they use the same strap as a normal one?? I want to get my brother an embroided strap but im not sure if I can get a guitar strap or not.

I am having a christmas party at my home in 2 weeks. I would like to play christmas music in my cd player. I have a 6 cd changer. I would like it to be light enough to be background music. It is for friends and family and the ages are 60-20. They are a very eclectic group, so I would like different kinds of music so at least some will please everyone. Any suggestions?

I didn't really like Gwen's last album, and by the sound of it, her new album is going to be just as rubbish too! What is with the yodelling!! It's awful!! She was much better and cooler when she was in No Doubt! Now it just sems like she is trying to be like the Black Eyed Peas or something!

I have done some thinking about this. Over the past 5 years, they have produced almost everything in commercial rap. And the beats suck. Boring weak simple beats. Some of them sound like they came from a 1982 Casio keyboard. Since they produce almost everything, there is little in the way of variety in rap production. Somewhat like a loose monopoly. I listen to alot of German industrial stuff and the beats are alot heavier and more futuristic. If you applied those beats to rap.....wow!
