When I listen to a song on Napster or Yahoo music with my subscription where I can listen to unlimited songs for a monthly fee, how are the artists paid? Do they get a certain amount each time I listen to a song of theirs?

I got the cable to conect the ipod to the computer. I conected it, then I went to my computer, then I clicked on the icon with my name, then I added pictures not to the calendar, notes or contacts but apart. Them I took the cable off and there still was 0 pictures...

I want to make a cd with a bunch of old school late 80's and 90's songs but of course when you sit down at the comp. ready to start your mind goes blank so I need your help. i think so. jus look at the over all variety in rock. songs about love and friendship and bad child hoods and bad relationships and even god. all in various styles like emo or death metal or pop. rap is jus the same ol same over and over. drug dealing pimping and clubbing. with exception of a handfull of artist. rock has its moments when its not so great but with rap u have to look hard for a song that doesnt sound exactly the same as everything else. sad really. what do u guys think?
