I've got this tune going round in my head - its old school Jamaican (I think) reggea instrumental from the fifties. If I could hum it on this I would!!! Any suggestions for good old 50's style reggea, or pre-reggea?

I am a drummer and, without trying to sound up myself, I think I'm fairly good. I'm not one of those drummers who tries to drown everyone out or play over the other instruments. Drums are the only thing I'm good at but I feel under acknoladged, and lately I've found myself wishing I played a quiter instrument. The most common words my music teacher says are "no drums".
Do other drummers get this from other people? And are there people other than drummers who follow the drummer of the band or does everyone love the lead guitarist?

I want to learn to play piano and keyboard but don't know which to start on. I've never played either. Is the piano much more complicated because of the pedals? Which is easier - going from keyboard to piano, or piano to keyboard? (Let's assume price is not an option!) I want to be able to home-record either on top of my guitar playing and vocals.
