I've got this tune going round in my head - its old school Jamaican (I think) reggea instrumental from the fifties. If I could hum it on this I would!!! Any suggestions for good old 50's style reggea, or pre-reggea?

Bob Marley. I don't think he was in the 50's though.

50s ? not really, reggae did not really appear until the mid 60s (when I was a we small laddy), try some old Ska beats and Prince Buster for starters, maybe some old school "Millie" ( My Boy Lollipop Fame) Mighty Diamonds, Ken Boothe, John Holt, Dandy Livingstone, Gregory Isaacs. Its nice real Jamaican Reggae as well not like the some of the Crapo they put out now! I miss Bob Marley a lot!

Anyhting Bob Marley is chill. Or try checking out Beres Hammond for some old school reggae sound....more new age stuff could be anyone from Buju Banton to Sean Paul or even some fake cats like Shaggy

Only one I can think of (although it was in the sixties) is The Isrealites by Desmond Decker and the Aces.
