yes, volume goes as follows, from softest to loudest:
pppp,ppp,pp,p,mp,mf,f,ff,fff,ffff
p is piano or soft, mp is mezzo piano(medium soft) mf is mezzo forte(medium loud), f is forte (loud) ff is fortissimo(very loud) and then triple and quadruple piano or forte respectively.

Why are tabs useless? I'm a fellow guitar player and tabs are the best way to get the "feel" of the song, but I know how you feel because tabs are no means a way of "reading" music. When you play sheet music for guitar, it's usually music w/ chord progressions and if it's a melodic line, then it helps if you know a little about piano (I took 2 years of lessons) so you can figure out what frets are sharps and flats. (also depends on what kind of music you play most) Also, with chord progressions, you can make up your own picking/strumming patterns. Improving and such has to be self-taught. hope this helps

Yes P is Piano mp is Meso Piano
Meso piano is louder but not louder than messo forte (mf) then there is forte (F)

Meso Piano is a little louder because you have to put more ari into the instrument

yes mp mezzopiano but p is piano wich mean soft. mp means medium soft. ppp mean alomost can't hear. ff means loud.

yes. mezzo piano means moderately soft, not quite as soft as piano. same with mezzo forte.

mezzo is italian. think mezzanine (elevated area in the middle).
mezzo soprano is between soprano and contralto.
