Lucky me will be getting $4000 dollars to spend (australian) and decided to buy me a new guitar since i'm playing on a 80 dollar cheapo crap guitar... I'm a MASSIVE fan of jimi hendrix, have been since 11 years old, and really want his sound, the guitar he played in woodstock sounded beautiful i love that sharp fat sound, and the way the stratocaster sings. I was thinking of getting either a standard 2006 american strat, or an 60th anivesery even though i haven't heard the 60th aniversy, but have heard really good reviews. As this is like moving from living in a trashcan to living in a penthouse, i would like some opinions on what pickups/guitar/strap or anything to have that nice bluesy hendrix sound! Oh and if anyone can tell me his setup?

I have been studying hendrix for a while now, and i find that he is heavy in minor pentatonic scales, and adds the blue note occasionally. But dose anyone know any basic pointers (or advanced) on how this genious came up with half of what he has?

The music sounds like Jazz. Upbeat tempo. The lyrics say something about "what a lovely day for", or "what a lovely night for", or "it's a lovely day for"...I can't remember them exactly, but someone told me they thought Harry Connick Jr. did a remake of it. Can anyone help me out?
