The profound thanklessness of that "joke" cannot be overstated... Try doing some research on the Beatles and the effect they had in the 60's - their musical innovations, their drug use, their influence on fashion, cultural mores, etc... Do the research... It'll open your eyes as to just how ignorant you are...!
