The popular Disney actress/ singer Raven is coming to my town. Almost every little girl loves her show and her music. I think she is safe enough, so I decided I would take both my nine year old niece and my God-daughter to the concert. I told my best friend who is the mother of my God-daughter. She said she'd be taking her nieces. I offered to buy tickets for her since she does not have internet access. But I also said to have the money before I bought anything, or else she'd be SOL. She said fine. The tickets went on sale at midnight lastnight. I told her a month ago, and I kept reminding her but she never paid me. So what did I do? I bought three tickets. One for me, one for my niece, and one for my God-daughter. Later, my sister asked if I had bought a ticket for my nieces best friend from down the street. I told her I hadn't. This little girl is nothing but trouble and her mom is a loose cannon. Frankly, I just didn't want to be bothered w/ either of them.

I heard this song for the first time a couple of days ago and was just blown away by it. I've never really listened to The Beatles before now.

In the past, I've noticed that whenever a major musical trend dies off (hippie music, disco, punk, new wave, glam rock, alternative) it seems like just before the end there's no specific artist that stands out anymore. Now that there's no Tupac or Puffy or other major new artist around, is this the end of rap? And what's going to take its place? I really hope it's not indie.

I've noticed that bands like All American Rejects, Fallout Boy and the Frey are the popular "rock" bands right now. Even getting playtime on my local "Alternative" radio station (WKQX- Chicago). At the same time, these bands are also getting airplay on our Kiss FM station (they play hip-hop and pop music, basically). Some have refered to these groups as "power pop" groups. Has rock, as we know it, just become power pop? Where's our REAL rock bands? It's become very sad.
