I've noticed that bands like All American Rejects, Fallout Boy and the Frey are the popular "rock" bands right now. Even getting playtime on my local "Alternative" radio station (WKQX- Chicago). At the same time, these bands are also getting airplay on our Kiss FM station (they play hip-hop and pop music, basically). Some have refered to these groups as "power pop" groups. Has rock, as we know it, just become power pop? Where's our REAL rock bands? It's become very sad.

the boybands are gone, so the teeny boppers had to ruin the rock music, some rock bands came out got popular, then it REALLY caught on to record label execs.... they're like hey these 16-year-old girls really dig this "Rock" lets get some guys who would really qualify for boy bands put some eyeliner on them and give them guitars and we'll be rich....but thats only sucky poseur bands, bands that have been around for a while like buller for my valentine, AFI, funeral for a friend, the black maria, taking back sunday, are really talented, but their record labels are making "poppy" to make money, and the 16-year-old teeny bopper POSEURS are ruining it by saying oh pete wentz is SO hot..I'm his wife BLAA BLAA BLAA BLAA...so a good band who has never been heard of...and made great music...sign the deal with the devil, sucks mtv's cock and become TEEN IDOLS!!!

I don't know, but I agree... I keep waiting for the next "grunge" movement - not a clone of the Seattle scene of the early nineties, just something that will shake things up and give us some REAL rock music again. Everything sounds the same.

Rock music keeps fetting beter because the newer crap keeps getting worse!!
In other words, Queen, Pink Floyd, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, they all get better. They are the bands that really matter!!

Those aren't rock bands dushbag. You want rock Get some Buckcherry, or some Wolfmother and theres this new band im starting to like called Rock Kills Kid. Oh yea and stop listening to your parents radio stations
