If you're trying to make a movie about a country's government, do you need to fly a plane to that country, take a taxi to the government's offices, and pay them a few million dollars? (or you could make a movie about it and not get in trouble?)

I saw an animated (cartoon) movie when I was younger, and I cannot remember the title. I can only remember bits of it, but if you have any idea of what it might be, please let me know!

It was about a little boy. I remember there being a light under a door and he opens it to find a train speeding towards him. In another part, he is in his bed in the middle of a very large body of water with lights in the distance. He ends up being taken to this place that is very bright and colorful, and everyone is happy there. I remember slimy monsters coming out of a swamp, trying to capture him. And I remember one scene, where he is by a giant door, with a key, and he is trying to get up high enough to put the key in the door. There was a lot of dark, slimy stuff like from the swamp, I think, in that part.

If you can offer any suggestions as to what this movie may be, I would appreciate it very, VERY much.

there was a movie i saw when i was little about a kindom or castle or something under a sink or in a cupboard.
there were weird people with whistles and no eyes. and that's all i remember.

It was on IFC just the other night. He was a mundane businessman whose wife was bored with him. He went out to see the seedy side of NY underworld looking for hookers etc.
It took a weird turn when he beat the crap out of and probably killed a pick pocket. Then he met this cute waitress, went to her apartment and killed her. Spent the rest of his life in prison.
It really un-nerved me.
