TV MOVIES and MINISERIES
How could I have not thought of this immediately?! Helter Skelter is a TV miniseries about the Manson Family and the trial of Charles Manson! It's brilliant and focuses intensively on court proceedings. It's a chilling, remarkable movie.
QB VII is a brilliant film, the first TV miniseries. The trial portion is in the second half. It starts out with an accusation of libel and ends with a man accused of war crimes. Anthony Hopkins is remarkable as the accuser who becomes the accused.
Our Mother's Murder aka Daughters
A Murder in New Hampshire
The Andersonville Trial (Civil War war crimes)
A Death in Canaan
A Killing in a Small Town

A really good, kind of obscure movie about a court trial is "Town Without Pity" from 1961. A German girl is assaulted by four American GIs in post-WW II Germany and a military lawyer (Kirk Douglas) is brought in to defend them, which he does.
The scene where he pleads with the father to drop the charges because he's going to take the girl apart on the stand, or when he deals with the final outcome of the trial and his part in it, are classics. Douglas never got enough credit for the dark roles he played - you can see the same thing in a lot of his son Michael's work too.

The Life of David Gale is not a trial based movie, but it's awesome and it definately gives you different ideas about supposed murders.

Other than the Crime TV dramas, which i sometimes watch, the best one ive seen is Fracture, with Anthony Hopkins. Its a very good movie, and 95% of it has to do with nothing but the court charges (Attempted Murder/Murder). Also, c'mon. I has Hopkins in it.Its gotta be good....I still cant figure out why Anythony Hopkins keeps killing people

A few good men (Jack Nicholson, Tom Cruise)
Primal Fear (RIchard Gere?)
Above Suspicion (w Chris Reeve)
BTW The Accused is a very good movie, but it is about a rape trial, not murder.

Had jury duty today - got to say that any movie that focussed on the jury position in a trial, would be the worlds greatest flop :-(
(Fortunately, I was excused for financial reasons).
