Movies - 14 January 2007

I watched this movie a LONG time ago. Probably 5-6 years ago. I somewhat liked this movie and I have the urge to watch it again yet I have NO CLUE what the name of the movie is. From what I remember..there is this family (hub, wife, son, daughter) anyways...the father dies in some kind of accident and this Indian tells his daughter that if you listen carefully you can hear your father talking to you from heaven. This causes the girl to go mute. Her mother, doctors....everyone tries to find out whats wrong with her. Her mother goes an extra step and tries to figure out more. I know that the girl for some reason likes to make card castles. Knowing this, her mother makes this "card" castel out of wood that reaches towards the moon.....idk

I know this is really random and messed up. But I only remember bits and pieces.....please help!

she meets a guy that manages a department storeand he falls in love with her and she ends up cooking at his resarant he opens on the top floor of his store ...everyone that eats her food feels the emotions she put into the cooking...the magic is all due to the live crab that followed her from the open air market in the beginning of the movie

It is about two sisters that I believe were twins and one of the sisters ties the others shoe laces together, they have a car crash and the one sister dies. She come back to haunt the family.

Can't remember who was in it but was set out in a logcabin in the prairie, the tune "what a friend we have in Jesus" featured throughot played I think on the mouth organ. Any help would be much appreciated. Saw this movie on late night TV in the UK about 1981, so assume film was released sometime before that.

My uncle wants me to see this movie called "bringin down the house". He has been telling me to watch it for the past year and I havent really gotten around to it or felt like it. its the first thing he tells me every time he sees me so it must be good. ha says i'm going to die laughing at this movie but I just want to know a little about the movie cuz i have nooo idea what its about and he syas its kind of like our family, not that you know what my family is like... but I just want a little insight! thanks!

I love good sci-fi movies but as a consiquence I hate most Sci-fi...so much sci-fi out there is truly crap and it hurts my head to watch it....examples of good stuff...the original Alien, Gataca, Blade runner, Vanilla Sky, Virtuosity, 2001, Terminator and even old stuff like Forbiden planet, or the day the earth stood still.... some example of bad stuff all present day star trek, MIB, ghost busters, and far too many examples to list...Does anyone else feel this way and if you have the same taste can you recommend anything different that may be hiding out at the block buster..I just stumbled across Gataca and it was great a movie... that makes you think...like Blade runner...some of the effects were hokey but the story was awesome...Suggetions welcome...
