Movies - 20 December 2006

I'm looking for the name of a movie.
Part of the plot is that the main character needs $4000 dollars so his brother can complete rehab so he asks this rich friend he knows for the money.
And the movie ends with the main character using some of the money to buy bread for the homeless and you see him at the end of the movie passing the bread out.
There's another scene in the movie where the main character smokes something these other people pass to him and the next thing he knows he's passed out on the sidewalk with people just walking by. Somebody steels his wallet and the cops even drive by and just leave him there.
The movie is from the early 1990s I think.

I saw this movie on a plane trip to India, so I don't know if it's American, or British or anything else (I don't remember where the connecting flight was). It was in English though...

This guy was a diamond theif and he wanted to steal the biggest uncut diamond in the world. To do this, he was going to disguise himself as a diamond cutter, but in this alternate old man personality he meets this young attractive girl. In the end I think he doesn't steal the diamond. The movie was mostly about his two sides as the young diamond theif and the old diamond cutter.

Does anyone remember this movie or can they give me more details to do a google search with (I've tried before and can't find anything)? Thanks!

In the movie 50 first dates, the scene in the diner when Adam first saw drew and kept staring at her. The old man in the diner said to adam, are you staring at me or her, you're starting to freak me out.
That guy was too funny. Is he somebody famous.

Repeat: SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT.

My interpretation of the "real" story was that what Teddy confessed to Lenny was the truth. I.e. the two intruders did rape Lenny’s wife, but she survived the assault. During the scuffle, Lenny conked his head and lost his ability form new memories. His wife (revealed by Teddy to be diabetic), couldn’t handle (didn’t want to believe) Leonard’s condition. So she tested him by repeatedly asking for him to give her her shots. He complied and ended up killing her. Of course, he doesn’t remember this, with his condition.

What I don’t get is: One, why do critics repeatedly refer to his wife’s “killing” by the intruders in reviews, when according to Teddy, she survived?

Two, how can Leonard alter his (long-term) memory of Sammy (giving him a fictional diabetic wife) as a reaction to killing his wife, when he can’t remember killing his wife? Doesn't he have to remember the trauma of killing her to have the impetus to alter his memory of Sammy?

I saw a movie a few years ago and I really liked it but I forgot the plot line and the title. I've been trying to think about it for a few days but I just can't think of it. Anyway, I know its about some women (four I think...) and it has a sunflower or daisy or something on the cover. It's a pretty popular movie too, so it's not like a weird small film. I know Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass played this track, but who actually sang the vocals? Herb Alpert almost never sang (the big exception was when he recorded "This Guy's In Love With You.) So it makes me think it wasn't Alpert singing that theme. It doesn't say on the soundtrack listing online and I don't have a copy of the soundtrack with me so I can't look on there. Also, the voice on it sounds British. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
