I've always been fascinated by the names of movie theaters. Mine was the Harris Theater (later changed to the Mt. Oliver Theater). I've heard of the Bijou, the Strand, the Roxy........Any others?

we used to go watch Tarzan or Cowboy or horror movies and sometimes 17 cartoons.

I am a BIG Star Trek fan of the Original Star Trek Movie, Star Trek Wrath of Khan, Star Trek Nemesis and so on, yet I find myself drawn to the force of Star Wars. Especially episodes 4 though 6 then 2 (I had to go backwards to see the new movies. Or is it forward then backwards...) Anyway, what is your personal opinion about both and why?

Like Superman. There have been several TV programs, cartoons, and movies about superman. Then you get some chanel like A&E or Discovery Channel, where some jerk tries to explain why Superman can't exist, becaue of a variety of scientific facts.
Why don't they do the same about Bugs Bunny or Mickey Mouse?

it seems like almost all the movies coming out are re-makes, examples: The Omen, Poseidon, Freaky Friday, Titanic, The Parent trap...
I know these one's are not very recent, but can you name some movies that have come out recently that are re-makes?

Hollywood wastes millions on casting big name actors. I know that with how much they make they can work for free. Its cheaper, easier, and faster to use no name actors. I am convinced that with 10 or 20,000 dollars I could make a movie better than Hollywood. The money goes to different people doing different jobs the key to having almost no budget is to have everyone do many jobs. I plan not only to write my own screenplay, but also to direct it, produce it, write music, do some camera work, and star in it! People in Hollywood are talented, they actually have talent, but its not worth the obscene amount of money that they get paid, first of all the work is not hard, in fact its the fun called work, secondly pay is bad for the low people because pay is so high for others, so think for a moment, it takes Hollywood 30million=2hrs=$250,000 per min. Some short films using only $10,000 dollars get a 10 minute film. Even thats shamefully wastefull! I may just be a cheap Jew but spend wisely!!

I'm planning a movie night for my school and we are trying to find a movie that has to do with poverty since we are using this as a theme for the year. I would really rather use a Hollywood film over a documentary since it would have more student appeal. Any suggestions/ideas/details? THANKS!
