it seems like almost all the movies coming out are re-makes, examples: The Omen, Poseidon, Freaky Friday, Titanic, The Parent trap...
I know these one's are not very recent, but can you name some movies that have come out recently that are re-makes?

we'll never know. and yeah, don't forget those movies which they adapted from foreign films--the ring, the grudge, lakehouse(from il mare). next i heard was that they're gonna do a hollywood version of my sassy girl (korea).

It's been so long since I went to the movies because the movies that have been coming out are so boring, or the same stuff again. I guess the bright side is we save money. Still, I would love to see a good movie in the theater. I can't remember the last time I really enjoyed a good "new" movie.

they seem to be either re-makes of old Hollywood movies OR re-makes of foriegn films. It is truely frustrating. There are some though and some that are awesome. The movie industry does not seem interested in taking chances.

even sometimes, great producers run out of ideas. Give them a break. Anyway, its nice to watch the remake as sometimes the original ones are not that good, eg. 16 blocks, firewall, etc.

As long as they can sucker the public with ads all over the place TV and merchandising they will get away with it.
