First off, let me say that I do realize Sandler's roots are in comedy as a former comedian and he found himself a nitch with kids and slapstick humor.

That said, I think he's misusing his talents as an actor. Personally, my two favorite movies of him are Spanglish and The Wedding Singer, because he's actually playing an adult and not a juvenille, infintile character, designed to reach people over the age of 10.

He's clearly smart and has talent, but the billy madison, or obscene movies he has directed like Mama's boy, showing college kids having sex with grandma, or seniors having their diapers changed is rude, disrespectful and frankly TMI.

I just hope as he gets older he will use his brain more in movie making and go for a more grown up audience. I don't know if he thinks he's appealing to the common man with his older movies and if he does, It's a sad testament to how far our society has regressed.

Don't get me wrong, the kids movies were funny, but they too get old.

Why do bassists always get such a hard time?

I started playing bass guitar a year ago. I have an awesome teacher, I love playing and because my sister plays drums we can always play together.But I've been getting so fed up with bassists always getting a bad rap from other people, (usually those who don't play an instruments!), "Oh, bassists just hang out with the band", "It's the cop-out instrument", "Bassists are stupid" etc.

I chose to play bass not because I thought it was any easier, but because it links together with the drums, it can create awesome funk/jazz sounds and it's really fun and the list goes on..but not because I'm uneducated, lazy or any other stereotypical name.I appreciate all instruments and all types of music, and honestly, they all contribute to a band, in thier own way. Bassists may not be the leader or in the limelight all the time, but they play the "glue" keeping it all together while the guitarists rock out. Which is great! But I'm so sick of people bagging out bassists for no good reason.

I Hate The Grateful Dead!!! Who else wants them dead??

Every summer my rather intelligent fiance by the sad misfortune of fate is a teacher and has too much free time to regresses into the Grateful Dead lifestyle cult. I can't take it anymore!!! The music is so terrible you'd have to be high to listen to it. I am a great collector of classic rock albums myself. His beautiful head of hair now looks like it belongs to a rejected fellow who tried out for the role of one of the 12 apostles. There is nothing here but trouble, bad drugs, sloppy & dirty behavior and it is just gross. How could a docile lover of history get sucked into this cult? Free love my a s s. These guys know how to make a buck. I'll bet there's ad below now!Jerry is dead but his pals still invade our areas with a disturbing frequency. Okay, long hair on men sucks, you look gross, and have no talent!! I'd rather go out to a nice dinner than spend a weekend like a cave-dwelling pig.

It's a song by a female Christian artist, it's a couple of years old, was played frequently on KLOVE and the lyrics go something like this: "Because of Who You are, and what I am in You, You make all things new".....and another fragment goes something like this....."I'm so thankful for the cross".....any brothers or sisters able to help?
