First off, let me say that I do realize Sandler's roots are in comedy as a former comedian and he found himself a nitch with kids and slapstick humor.
That said, I think he's misusing his talents as an actor. Personally, my two favorite movies of him are Spanglish and The Wedding Singer, because he's actually playing an adult and not a juvenille, infintile character, designed to reach people over the age of 10.
He's clearly smart and has talent, but the billy madison, or obscene movies he has directed like Mama's boy, showing college kids having sex with grandma, or seniors having their diapers changed is rude, disrespectful and frankly TMI.
I just hope as he gets older he will use his brain more in movie making and go for a more grown up audience. I don't know if he thinks he's appealing to the common man with his older movies and if he does, It's a sad testament to how far our society has regressed.
Don't get me wrong, the kids movies were funny, but they too get old.

Well I have a life to some of you, obviously you cared enough about this topic to make a comment as well, so grow up and either answer the question with some maturity, or don't answer at all.
And how am I obsessed with him? I asked a question about him and that's it. I
m not like some of you who probably have his poster on their wall or have watched billy madison 600 times.
How do some of you people equate a comment with being obsessed or not having a life. And you don't need to tell me how to live or feel. I didn't ask your horses A^^ opinion on life, just on Sandler. Try to focus people and learn how to read.
I said his older stuff was funny, when I was 20, but for some of us as you get older you get smarter and want to see something with a little bit more depth and intelligent behavior than farts or toilet talk, etc. some of you people really amuse me, you really do.
And the first poster, why would you want hitler as your avatar? You have some serious problems!

I agree with you. I'm getting annoyed with his jokes being used over and over again(like colonel sanders & bringing in rob schneider to talk about being a filipino jew or something). I liked the serious parts of the movie 50 First Dates & Spanglish was good also.

Adam Sandler has some really good movies out there, like 50 First Dates, Spanglish and Mr. Deeds. Those are all great movies of his. That being said, there are certain types of movies that I would like to see him steer clear of. I would like to see him take on movie roles that are geared more towards a grown up audience. Yes a lot of those movies are funny, but there's just too many of them these days.

Wedding Singer and 50 first dates, Happy Gilmour, Click, are all great movies. I think Adam is just trying to find the right stuff, and I'll watch, just to see him.

It all depends on the director...
Think of Robin in What Dreams May Come. If the director is good and the talent versatile, they can basically do any type of movie.

He's doing a war movie with Tarantino. So maybe he will again show the dramatic side of his acting. But Tarantino is pretty immature too, so, who knows.
