Why, half way through a season, does American TV decide to take a break for anything up to 2 months?

It's happened twice in the current season of Heroes and throughout the history of Smallville (and probably most other things I don't watch).

I hope it doesn't catch on over here!

So why do they break? Surely viewers lose interest (like I did with Lost Season 3).

This complaining about the reporting system,Its pointless!?

The system is a program(software).So posting all these Q is
pointless!.Nobody at Yahoo is going to read or do anything
about it.I agree with everyone about the system,but you all
need to send Emails to the man!!!

Am i right?

t's always been a mystery to me how to tell the difference between bull and cow dung i have laid a wake at night thinking about it. finally i've got it . just throw it in the air if it comes down it's cow .if it doesn't well it has to be bull s hit .... do you think i am right ..hope this helps people sleep.
