Of course they are. Even though Hollywood is portrayed as a liberal area at least 90% of the movies made there are American propaganda. Even the people making them don't realize this. America always wins America is always right even when what they do is the same as the bad guy. Even aliens speak English a language which should have it's name changed to American, since our slang has ruled over it for at least the past hundred years or so.

Yes, and very much so. In the sixties everthing was cold war propaganda; even children tv shows. A couple examples of movie propaganda are that of Rocky IV and Rambo. In Rocky; he fights the russian, portrayed as a massive; almost giant man. Rocky wins. In Rambo, he runs around shooting up comies, never gets shot. One man.....against a whole coutnry...ang guess what....he wins. In wwII captain america was created for propaganda. But anyways, all this was when we were united as one nation....and the media didnt do all it could to bring down the government.

Yes to an extent, and some more than others, but it really depends which movie you're talking about. Movies about the Cold War or movies made during the Cold War.

There has always been a relationship between American cinmea and what is considered at the time to be patriotism. Hollywood needs little encouragement to paint a country or group as "bad guys" Through the 1950's the main bad guys were the Germans from world war II. Communists, especially the Soviet Union took over that role, now it is middle east "terrorists".

Some are and some are not. In the 50s there was a strong effort to demonize anything communist (or even socialists). When the 60s came along we questioned our government a bit more and movies reflected that. Many showed communists as people and just demonized their government. These days it is a toss up. Right now we are more determined to demonize the Arab nations whether it is justified or not.

I think so. They show their side of the story and you are more than likely to choose sides. I also think that's why us Americans are so patriotic.
