In real life, I think the most forward was that guy that gave me a hug and yelled "f*ck me!" (And I'm not lying, in case there's a doubting Thomas out there)

John was an aspiring graduate with a degree from
one of New York's best drama universities.

He had applied for several jobs and at last he was ask to come in for an interview. During the interview he was told it was only a very small part but it would be good experience. This particular gig was interesting to John because he would be in his first Broadway play.

John met with the director was told about the play and given his part to practice. He only had one line and it read like this;
"Hark, I hear the cannons roar!"

The director had marked a spot on the stage so John knew exactly were to stand. He advised John that as soon as he heard the sound effects, he was to shout his line with energy and expression.

Opening night, the lights, the crowd, the music and finally curtain call. John was in position to do his part. The play progressed and John was a little neverous.
All of the sudden, John hears this loud, "BOOOOOMM!"
and he says "What the f^^k was that??"
