A man and his wife were having an argument about who should brew the coffee each morning. I was watching it (still) last night. They make a joke about words being derived from Latin, the beginning of blues music, the lunar pull of the moon and Shakespear all in the same episode. This was typical of Dangermouse.

Can you imagine a cartoon made these days crediting the audience with enough intelligence and knowledge to get jokes like these?

Bear in mind, it was only made 20-30 years ago.
