i have spanish 2 and am a sopmohre in high school it is to late to switch the class but this class is a high way to hell for me i hate the teacher i hate everything about him i am talking to the counsler next week please what should i say to get me out of that class. i am doing horrible in this class and it has bin 3 weeks since the semester started. i am a good student and have an average of a 3.5 GPA

I'm teaching myself bass (I haven't been learning that long i am still very new to this so any extra advice would also be helpful) in the learning book thing it says to use a certain finger on the fret. My question is... do I have to use that specific finger on the fret? (for example: if it tells me to put my 4th finger on the 3rd fret but i want to use my 2nd finger instead would it make a difference?)

Cuz it seems if i use the finger i am more comfortable using then i get the right amount of pressure on the string so it doesn't make any ringing noise of the string. but if i use the finger thats recomended i cant always get that right amount of pressure on the string and some how i get a ringing noise...

(also how often should you tune the bass? and how can you tell if it is getting out of tune or needs tuning?)

I am sorry if any of these questions make me sound dumb. but i really want to learn the best way. so please can anyone help me?
